18 Days And Counting

Yep, still no mail.  It’s already 18 days overdue.  In fact, I just received my June mail and the May shipment remains missing in action.

I called the Patrick AFB campground last Friday, where the mail was erroneously sent and they said there is no mail package for me there.  Talking to Dakota Post right after that, they claimed they had contacted a person at the AFB earlier in the week who said they would drop the package back at the Post Office.

A call from Dakota Post today stated they still have not received back my mail package.

I’m at a loss as to what to do.  I know about what most of the mail is in that package, but there are always some other things that are sent to us in every mail package that we don’t know is coming, plus several magazines and renewed club membership cards are probably in that package too.

It’s amazing how something so simple can grow into such a huge problem by someone’s carelessness.  I think it’s time to talk to the Dakota Post owner again.

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. We've only had one major problem with our mail forwarding and it took it 3 1/2 weeks to finally catch up to us. So frustrating. Hope you find it soon.

  2. Be glad your not awaiting essential mail order medications. We've also had a snafu or two with mail forwarding, but for the most part it works pretty good.

  3. Our medicine goes to our daughter but other stuff isn't so important unless we're waiting for something. You may have to go to that post office and start cleaning out their shelves.

  4. It is very bad that we are not receiving our mail orders proper. We have experienced this as late delivery...

  5. We only have had one issue with receiving mail and that was during our first trip around the sun!! We were stuck in Yuma waiting and waiting...then we realized it was still during the Pony Express Era...but it finally showed up;o))) Hope it arrives soon!!!

  6. Well I hate to be a nay sayer but in our experience, the package never shows up. Me thinks your mail folks may be fibbing to you. No reason the AFB would be. I hope I'm wrong but this exact thing happened to us. It never showed up. Don't you wish there was a national "dead letter" office that one could go to and see how much mail is in limbo. David's medicine comes FedX. They don't seem to lose things. Of course I doubt this is the post office's fault. Really frustrating.

  7. That doesn't sound good. I'm glad there isn't something that you need right away like medicine in that package. I hope you get it, but I'm thinking like Sherry, sometimes it seems like there's a black hole out there where mail can just disappear.

  8. Good luck with you mail hope it arrives soon.
Ours goes (very little) to a relative and we pick it up when we eventually get there or they can send to us if it looks important.

  9. Ughh I feel your pain. Nothing worse than waiting for something that doesn't show up! Hopefully you will get it eventually.

  10. Feel your pain. In the early days of fulltiming our mail was sent to someone else entirely ... even before we requested it. Luckily, whoever got it, sent it back so all was well. No problems since.

  12. Definitely a time of frustration that maybe a Phone Call to the Dakota Post owner might quickly resolve. Just glad that there's no Cheque in the Mail.
    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

  13. Oh dear, how will you know if you've won the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes? Seriously, I hope nothing important was in it. Seems like it's gone.
