Saved From Sheer Boredom

It's hard to sit in one place for so long, but waiting on our medical appointments we have no choice.  We try to keep busy, but there is only so much you can do when tied down to one area.  Despite the waiting, we've still managed to get along with each other, or at least Marti has exercised great self discipline and hasn't smothered me with a pillow (yet!).

We did get to go watch our grandson, Owie, in his Ju Jitsu class.  He really enjoys it and has done well, but watching him and trying to get a good picture of him practicing his technique is quite a challenge.  The old hand-is-quicker-than-the-eye (or camera) thing.

Finally, he slowed down enough!

Thankfully, some of our special friends that are close by called and made a lunch date with us.  Mike and Terri are workamping at a Corps of Engineers campground for the next several months near us, so we were able to have a great time together.  They have taken pity on us and we've now enjoyed their company twice in as many weeks.

Even our cars had a nice time visiting with each other.  Do you suppose that we think alike, the same cars both with the same state license plates?

Then Marti got an email from Elaine.  She is one of our many wonderful Canadian RV friends who was heading home with her husband, Rick, after wintering in Florida.  They were passing right by where we are and wanted to know if we would be able to meet them for lunch.  After checking our calendar and finding it blank, we said, "Yes!" and had a great but all too short visit with them.  We got a nice picture of them in front of their gleaming motorhome.

Once again, good friends saved us from sheer boredom. :c)

We're hoping to head to the MODOC COE campground where Mike and Terri are working the week after next, barring any unforeseen medical appointments.  I don't know what we'd do without all our good friends, we're very lucky!

The End

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I can so relate to that boredom problem. The last couple of years have been that way but I'm sure making up for it all in this one week. By the way, I love reading your comments. They brighten my day.

  2. I think you should definitely get over to MODOC! Someone needs to check up on Mike and Terri and make sure they are really working! :)
Hope your boredom gives you a break soon and that you'll be burning up that diesel up and down I-95!

  3. Are you sure you can't just pull a PDD week-end and come on down to the panhandle?? We can be sort of entertaining or we'll try.

  4. It seems we're either bored with little to do or swamped with too much. Finding middle ground is the hard part. However, some of our best times have been with others ... family (first, of course) and then our many RV friends. Enjoy!

Did you see Dennis Hill's blog the other day where as a RETIRED MARINE he no longer has CHAMPS, but has to spend his own $$$????
Hope Owie don't drop you with a wrist hold!!!

  10. If you're bored, I suggest you buy one of those white outfits and roll around on the floor with Owie. Think what it will do for your flexibility! ;) Then post a picture of you in pain...

Sorry you're bored. We feel the same way when we're in Tampa. I was hoping you guys would be able to get down here to the Keys while we are here. Maybe next time.
