Backing up the blog a bit, time to put in some pictures.
My Co-Pilot helped me navigate to Myrtle Beach. He was rewarded with a fuel stop at Flying J. Andrew was filled up with pizza and chicken wings (as was Owie). Can’t beat that smile!
Even though we ran into some rain on the way down,
we checked into PirateLand Campground with no problems. We were well behaved at check in, because there was a pirate hanging from the ceiling ready to deal with troublemakers.
We got a good site, in fact the exact same site that we had last year.
We jumped into some of the activities available. Right off, we went sailing on some paddle boats. I liked the paddled boats, they are two boy powered.
Of course with all that energy expended, we had to refuel the boys…with, what else? Ice cream!
They do pack the RVs in here pretty closely.
But we don’t care because right at the end of the street is this!
The boys looked at the waves for a little while.
But it didn’t last long! :c)
Another evening, they got some advice on building sand castles from Mimi.
After fighting a losing battle with the tide, we consoled the boys…
With more Ice Cream!
We haven’t even gotten to the pools and mini golf. Standby.
THE END (For Now)
Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.
Ha! The old ice cream trick huh? Do their parents read this blog? Pizza for breakfast and ice cream for lunch and dinner. A little boy's heaven is right! Where's mine?????
ReplyDeleteSeems like an excuse for grandpa to dig into the ice cream.
ReplyDeleteLook out! your waist size is about to increase a notch or two.
ReplyDeleteDo you realize that you are setting the bar pretty high for your son and your grandkids? They're going to have to put in a lot of hours with their grankids just as you have .... but that's a good thing. It builds strong families.
ReplyDeleteHeaven for little boys? Heck, that's heaven for old ladies too! :)
ReplyDeleteSomeday I'd like to park that close to the ocean and never leave :)
My suggestions is to introduce the boys to those dark brown pointed sugar cones. If you're going to eat ice cream, you shouldn't eat it out of those cardboard type things. :)
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see you are not spoiling those kids:)
ReplyDeleteYeah...there is no spoiling going on there! Looks like a great location.
ReplyDeleteCan I come and spend my summer vacation with you??
ReplyDeleteI think I want to come back in another life as one of your grandchildren, I like ice cream!
ReplyDeleteThose are two very lucky boys, glad you are having a great time with them.

Sounds wonderful. You're really very brave. I usually send mine home after I sugar them up good!! Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteA great life grandpa, pizza, wings, ice cream and the beach=heaven.
ReplyDeleteBoy, oh boys! Looks like you're having fun this week!
ReplyDeleteHi Paul! Looks like you're having a great time with the grands! I love it! I wanted to wish you a happy Father's Day! Nice to reconnect through your blog. Hi to Marti!
ReplyDeleteNo can do with what you suggested for the shower. The old one had a built in hole in the shower head for hooking in on. What I need is a holder, not a hook. :(
ReplyDeletePizza, ice cream, and miniature golf. My idea of heaven.
