Satisfaction

If you remember a few posts back, I showed pictures of Marti making La La Loopsy dolls for our four granddaughters, Anabelle, who lives in New Jersey and Taylor, Kierra and Rebekah who live in Missouri.

We we fortunate to see Anabelle play with her doll when she visited Aunt Heather’s house for Thanksgiving.  It made Marti very happy.

Sadly, though, we’d not be able to see the girls in Missouri with their dolls.  We shipped them out FedEx and they arrived safely.  Then Marti asked our son Ryan and DIL Amber if the girls could open the wrapped dolls early while we Skyped to see their reactions.

The pictures are not the best, taken by cell phone off the computer screen,  but they tell the story.

Satisfaction!  Marti is thrilled the girls loved them.  Each doll took about 10 hours of work to construct, but when you make your special little girls happy, every minute of work was worth it all.

Now I have to work hard to get some satisfaction.  My cell phone died.  You’d think they’d last longer than six or seven years.  With much wailing an gnashing of teeth, I had to spring $1.07 for a new phone (with a two year contract).

Carla, the lovely lady at the AT&T store was so helpful setting up my new phone.  Wish there were more people like her that are so helpful to their customers.  Now all I have to do is learn how to use the thing.  I’m going to put Carla on speed dial so I can get her help to speed up my learning curve.

As soon as I learn to turn the darn phone on!

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  15. Even though you're struggling with the phone, you seem to have caught onto Skype. Isn't technology wonderful? It sure beats the pony express riders our ancestors had to deal with.

  16. Here I thought Marti might go into business making those dolls for those of us that don't sew. But at 10 hours/doll I guess that's not going to happen...

About your phone - is that photo a picture of your new phone or your 7 year old one? I mean it looks a little 'large'. How long is the extension cord for it? Can you go at least 20' from a wall plug?

  20. I am thinking about upgrading to a smart phone. Although it would be fun to play with, the additional cost is holding me back. Those dolls are beautiful.
