We Survived Our Cruise

After seven wonderful days at sea on our cruise, we returned to our starting point in New York City, sailing up the harbor just as the sun was coming up over Manhattan.  The city looked positively magical as the rays lit up the glass panes in the skyscrapers, a sight we'll not soon forget, sort of a fitting end to our travels.

Now I have to wade through several hundred pictures to find the best ones to put in the blog.  With the departure for our workamping tour with the Army COE in South Carolina looming on Wednesday, I'll be a bit tied up with last minute details before we roll out, so I'll try to squeeze in a few minutes to get them in the blog pipeline.

We have some observations on what we liked and didn't like about Norwegian Cruise Line to share, too.  After three cruises this year (!), first on Disney, then Royal Caribbean, and now Norwegian, we have some experience to draw conclusions on.

So stay tuned!

  2. I have only done one cruise, period. So I guess I'll remain a novice.

  3. Glad to see you back and I'll definitely look forward to your pros and cons based on 3 different cruise lines. I'd say you qualify as an expert at this point. Perhaps you could even drive the ship.

  5. Never been on a cruise. I'd like to do one some day, but preferably as a way to get somewhere. That way, you kill two birds with one stone. Having said that, I'm not sure that it would be our thing. Won't know until we try one!

  6. We've enjoyed every cruise we've been on and it will be interesting to read about your comparisons (there are a couple that we'll never use again!)..... despite some of our reasons for not using those lines again, none were a total disaster. Glad you had a good time and can just imagine how wonderful it was to sail into NY Harbor!

  10. Looking forward to your comparison blog. We've sailed 5 times, but on the same cruise line each time. I can tell you that there are significant differences between cruises even in the same line.

  12. Even after analyzing the differences in the three cruises, you will still find the next one to be different. At least, such has been the case for us. Aren't you glad we don't have to pay to have developed anymore. That was almost as expensive as every trip we took!
