Marti's Musings: Weekend break

We are enjoying the weekend away, in the Journey, at the same campground as our friends, Mike and Terri.  They are relatively new full-timers, so it is sure nice to spend time with them as they are just a few steps ahead of us on the journey to FT.

The weather has been H.O.T. - and for the 3rd weekend in a row, I have forgotten to pack my bathing suit.  Paul loves to swim - I do, too - but I think at this point it is a freudian thing (I bet the ladies out there understand, and guys?  ask your gal - wink)  - either that or my memory is scarily bad!   (Paul is so patient with me, and tells me it is because there is so much on my mind - what a guy!)  I truly thought I had it this time...  Yeah, well I grabbed something - only it wasn't the bathing suit.  So, after 3 trips to different stores, it appears I wear a size that must be pretty common, because every other size is available... except mine.  Paul tells me the pool water is perfect.  Maybe next time!

Both nights we have had thunder storms - sure is nice being tucked in safe and sound.  I felt sorry for the tenters, though.  Boy, do we remember THOSE days!  (Did you know that we tented on our honeymoon?) It really was romantic - and we'd do it again (at that age, anyway)

We did get a call that a realtor was showing our house this weekend.  Yeah!  We keep reminding ourselves, it only takes one buyer....

Well, tomorrow we will have a cookout with Mike and Terri, and say our goodbyes - not sure if we will see them again, before they hit the road.  For sure we will meet up with them down the road, though.  We are having fun talking about our 'bucket lists'.  They are similar enough that we will be meeting them at some of our destinations.  This is the fun stuff that keeps us sane, during this insane limbo period.  Looking ahead to the future, and the fun times.

Admittedly, patience has never been my strong suit. But, it's all in God's time.

  2. Sam's Club is a super place to find a swim suit. I found one and even a cool cover up! Good luck on selling your house. Our time is to come.

  3. I will not suggest that you do not actually need a bathing suit, shorts and a t-shirt will do. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

  4. Swimming feels good after a day of driving. Gotta get that suit or just some shorts. Fingers crossed on the showing.

  7. That memory thing -- you really do just have too much on your mind. Very soon your house will be sold, you'll be kicked back in your lounge chair, and you can welcome back your old friend, Memory.

  8. Oh it's definitely Freudian :) By now, you should have had one permanently in the Journey! I hate having people see me in a bathing suit. Men never care (what THEY look like!) Good luck on the ONE buyer!!

  10. What Laurie said!!!

What is it with swimsuits anyway? You have to be under 30 and a size 2 to look good in one. I brought one along when we started fulltiming though. I just don't remember where I put it :)
