It’s hard to believe our week at Disney World is almost over. To say it has been fun would be an understatement…it’s been a blast! Any chance we have to spend time with our grandkids is worth everything to us, and we’ve made the most of this trip, even if it was one of the wettest trips we’ve ever been on.
The heavens opened on us most every day for hours, but with some rain gear, the fun never stopped.
One of the nicest things about staying at the Fort Wilderness (FW) campground is the ability to pop in and out of the parks during the day have some lunch, a nap or a swim in the pool to cool off.
And yes, there is a Hot Tub here! :c)
We rented a golf cart from an off site company this year and saved some serious money over a Disney golf cart rental. You don’t have to use a golf cart, but FW is so big, it helps to get around and make the most of your day.
FW is really a beautiful place. No, it’s not quiet like some real close to nature state parks in Florida, but it’s meant to have all kinds of activities for its visitors to enjoy. However, being in Florida, you do have to be careful of the alligators. They are everywhere. In fact, one took over this golf cart, don’t know how the owners are going to deal with it.
One nice thing was Andrew and Owie’s mom and dad were able to come down for the weekend and spend time with us at Disney World.
They were nice enough to share the boys with us.
The all time family favorite ride is Splash Mountain, it is a nice ride telling the story of the “Song of the South” movie combined with a log flume ride. Yes, you will get wet.
The Magic Kingdom is a very big place, easy to get lost in. Fortunately we had a good map reader to lead us around to the different rides.
In fact, Owie has been coming here now for five years and has become quite the seasoned visitor. He knows all the tricks and has found great places to relax while riding the Monorail.
One thing caught the boy’s attention,
a show at Cinderella’s Castle, starring Mickey and Minnie!
More to come, so stay tuned!
Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.
Wonder who is more tired at night...the kids or the grandparents? :) I'd need a long nap each day!
ReplyDeleteOh boy, what fun!! I'll bet everyone will need to nap for at least two weeks to make up for all that riding and swimming. Glad to hear from you. I figured that you were just having way too good a time to bother with anything else. Lucky grandkids and grandparents to be making life long memories.
ReplyDeleteNice to see so many smiles, glad you guys are having such a good time.
ReplyDeleteSo glad all of you are having such a great time.
ReplyDeleteFun times = fun memories... Enjoy!!!
How marvelous!! What lucky grandkids you have and how nice of them to allow you to go to Disney with them. It's wonderful memories in the making. The clouds have been opening up all over the place. We're all getting soaked and we don't like it one little bit.
ReplyDeleteMaking Memories...that's what it's all about!!
ReplyDeleteThe grandkids will remember these trips FOREVER!!!!
So much fun even in the rain. And the memories that you all will have. Ten years from now you can go - remember that ______ that we did in the rain at Disney World? How fun was that.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun you are having! So sorry the weather isn't cooperating. Won't matter in the long run!
ReplyDeleteLooks like everyone is having a great time!!
ReplyDeleteglad you are making some great memories with those precious boys!!..even in the rain you made it look like fun!!
ReplyDeleteNow thats what Disneys all about, great times with the kids!!! Glad your enjoying them.

Looks like a blast!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time is being had by all. A little rain isn't bad once you get past being wet, it can, at times, beat the heat of the sun especially this time of year.
ReplyDeleteDisney is so much fun, but it's one of those destinations where you need a vacation after it's all over!

We love FW one of our favorites, park the car and ride the bus/boat to everywhere. Downtown Disney is a blast also - and for boys they can build their own remote cars ... even the big boys really like it. Disney certainly is fun for all ages and with so many options to keep you busy it's just a "Magical" experience... Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI just caught up again. Congrats on the new grandbaby and good news about Taylor's ear self-healing. Loved the RV rules - so true. Have a wonderful time in Disney World with those adorable boys. Keep up the great posts.
