Maybe Hotels Aren’t That Bad

A lovely traveling day, heading North.  We drove 450 miles in the pouring rain in the car, good thing I just installed new windshield wipers.

We stopped at a Hampton Inn in Virginia for the night.  When I traveled for work, I often stayed in Hampton Inns, I found them to be really good.

This hotel came with a plus, a big plus.  A great indoor pool.

And a hot tub!

That hot water and those bubble jets sure erased the miles from our bodies.  It was hard to leave.  Wish there was a way to take it with us…

A good inspection of the bed found no bed bugs.  I count that as a bonus.  :c)

  1. I wish I could stop worrying about bedbugs while traveling. When we are hoteling it, I am always a bit on edge because I know it is a real problem in some areas. Glad you had no problems this time.

  2. Ack - bedbugs are one thing I have a big fear of. Never seen one but you just never know where they might be hiding. If you have itchy spots on your legs when you wake up, just ignore them. I'm sure it's nothing...

  3. Car and motel/hotel is how we travel now. Never any bedbugs yet. I am always leery of hot tubs, but then I remember what I have done in them in the past:))

  4. Wonder if the Hampton Inns originated in Hampton VA. It's been long since I have stayed in a hotel I had forgotten about bedbugs but not about hot tubs. Glad you had one and not the other.

  5. Stay alert! I'm so bad that I won't take in my suitcase, just a bag with what I need. Then I put it on a coat rack. I know, nuts, huh?

  7. That is why I love the nicer RV parks. Give me a warm pool and a hot tub and I'm a happy camper! Worth the price as far as I'm concerned.

  8. Have stayed in our share of hotels ... motels ... no bedbugs ... and hope we never have a close encounter with them any time in the future either!

  13. That hot tub sure does look inviting. Just think of all the friends you'd have if you did take it with you!! A clean room and a soft bed .... perfect for a good night's rest. Enjoy the rest of the journey.

  14. I guess that hot tub is a pretty good reason for staying in a hotel for the night. It sure helps take away the muscle aches of driving all day.

  15. I agree with Jeri - you'd have more friends than you'd know what to do with if you took that hot tub with you. Be safe.
