Weather Guessers Lie

Yep, but I’m sure that’s not news to anyone.  The bad news is I actually took their word for it that there wasn’t going to be rain.

Nothing better than schlepping around in the pouring rain, putting away soggy folding chairs, draining hoses, dumping tanks and disconnecting electrical cables while water is running down your back and your shoes are squishing.  One of the joys of RVing.  ;c)

We had to say goodbye to our granddaughters, it was hard, especially since we probably won’t be back until maybe next April.  A long time.

We got everything squared away and hit the road about 10:45.  By then, the rain stopped (of course) and we had a pretty dry trip.  Through St. Louis, across the mighty Mississippi River and in to Illinois, then Indiana, where we’ve stopped for the night at a Cracker Barrel.  The manager gave us permission to stay here so we’ll have a great breakfast to start our day.

We have a wedding to attend in Roanoke, VA on Saturday, then next week we’ll be down in South Carolina for our daughter, Heather’s birthday end of the week.  We’ve made arrangements with our Ranger friend to arrive at Thurmond Lake COE the following week (a week early) to start our three month workamping stint.  Lots on our plate, but we’re looking forward to it.

Now if I can just get some dry clothes…  :c)

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I was glad they were wrong today. No severe weather for us - just rain and more rain. You are definitely going to be in Roanoke before we are.

  6. Never trust a weather guesser! I'm still amazed at how much time TV news programs allots to these guys.

Tough to leave the grandkids for sure. You've left them with some great memories though until you return!

  8. I know what it's like leaving family behind. At least you probably weren't there long enough to wear out your welcome. Weather was not and humid in Virginia when we were there. I think you'll be running into some of that as you continue your journey south. It did rain too.
