Gettin' Outta' Dodge

Marti had some air miles that were going to expire, plus she found a couple of really cheap airfares to Columbia, SC.  So we're hopping on a plane tomorrow to go visit our grandsons for a long weekend.

Now if we could find some reasonable airfares to Oregon, we'd go visit the granddaughters.  Unfortunately, this is a bad time of year to find cheap plane tickets.  We miss them terribly (the girls, not the tickets).

On the other hand, I got an email from a general in an African country who needs help getting his money out of his country.

If I help him, I'll earn $1 million dollars for my trouble.  All I need to do is send him my bank account information and he'll wire the money right away.  Then all our worries about full time expenses will be over and that new Winnebago 42 foot Tour will be in our driveway soon.  Whoo Hoo!

If you believe this, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.

But the email is true.  I did get it from our blog email.  You'd think that people wouldn't fall for this, but it must work for the crooks every once and a while because they keep doing it.

Anyway, we wish we were taking the Journey, but for a short visit, it actually makes financial sense to fly this time, if we drive it's about a 8-9 hour drive. I do enough driving just to work.  So we'll trade comfort for more time with the boys.

It'll be good to get away and we'll keep you posted on  all the trouble we get in to.  :c)
