Time's a Growing Closer

During the work day, Marti and I often e-mail back and forth, our offices are a mere 165 miles apart.  I climb out of bed at 4:30 am each morning to begin my 165 mile (one-way) commute, to get to the office by 8 am.   By 9 am Marti is in her office for another typical long day.

I drove home and got in just before 7 pm and of course Marti is still at work.  Hopefully, she'll be able to drive her arduous 3 mile commute home shortly.  Neither of us feel like cooking so we'll either grab something out or pick at something at home.  I need to hit the bed by 9 or 9:30 pm to start all over again.

We are looking forward to the weekend, even if Marti will be working most of Saturday and part of Sunday.  Monday is a holiday for me, but not for Marti.

We're stretched to the max for sure.  We wonder how long it's going to take for us to de-stress when we hit the road full time.  But however long it takes, it will be sweet to be out there.  Every day is one day closer and boy are we ready!

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Wow! 165 miles one way is far! I bet you two are looking forward to having a more leisurely pace. Have a wonderful weekend. You deserve it!

  2. that is long commute!!!..I am sure you will be glad to be done with that!!

  3. I'm very familiar with "O-dark thirty" but not with marathon daily commutes. 20 miles is far enough for me.

  4. Wow, that is some commute! No wonder you are so itchy to get on the road.

  5. Sure makes one appreciate sitting back in that lawn chair once you are all set up!!!

Steveio commutes 35 miles one way, but when he gets home on Fri, it's usually another 75-100 miles before we get to a campground!
