Rotating Granddaughters

Sometimes I wish we could just clone ourselves.  We love spending time with all our grandkids, but since they are scattered between South Carolina, New Jersey and Pennsylvania (and the Pennsylvania kids will be moving to Missouri in two months), we have to rotate our time to be with all of them.

We finished up our time with Anabelle in NJ.  It was lots of fun, we did many things together.  We took her and her Mommy and Daddy out to the Cheesecake Factory for Mother’s Day.

She got her very first ride on a carousel, and loved it!

She also proved that whipped cream is a finger food!

All too soon, our visit was over and we headed the 108 miles from NJ to Pennsylvania to see our other granddaughters, Taylor, Kierra and little Rebekah.

We’ll be here for the rest of the week to help out as they’re getting ready to move to Missouri to Daddy Ryan’s new assignment in the Coast Guard.

But it’s also for another very special reason:  Rebekah's first birthday!

So let the spoiling begin, and what better way than with ice cream at Dairy Queen!

  1. Rebekah looks as bald as my kids were. I always envied those babies that came out with a full head of hair. Of course, maybe it's because she's in a Coasty family?

    1. Yep, the Coast Guard maintains aids to navigation on the mighty Mississippi for all the water borne traffic.

He'll be on a cutter out of St Louis that travels up and down the river to make sure all the buoys and fixed lights are in place and in good shape.

  4. Just think how hard it would be to spend enough time with all your grandones if you didn't have an RV life!

  5. Cute, cute, cute, and cute. You can really tell the sisters are sisters. I hope they're excited about the move. Or are they just used to it?

    1. Taylor, our oldest granddaughter, will have moved five times after they get to Missouri, and she's only seven. So she's used to it. Hopefully this move will leave them in place for three years.

  7. Definitely looks like a fun merry-go-round you are on. You could just spend 4 months in each state and repeat! That wouldn't require any PDD driving. You sure have a beautiful family.

  8. You have beautiful looking granddaughters. Nothing wrong with feeding the Grands whipped cream and ice cream either - it makes up for all the times we told our own kids that they'd had enough!!

  12. So, I'm guessing you'll have another state to spend lots of time in. If Ryan keeps moving, you'll get to keep your wheels moving. Grandkids are the best. We love spending time with them too. These are memories they'll never forget.

  17. They should check out St. Charles as a place to live- we loved it there. They also have a good RV park right downtown. It is a little pricey but a nice place to stay while visiting the area.

  18. Your grandkids are very cute! I was just thinking maybe we should invite our older grandkids to travel with us for the summer. Then I came to my senses and decided we would visit them instead.
