Or trying to.
We had a successful launch Sunday afternoon, the Journey’s wheels actually still rolled. After sitting still for a couple of months, I always worry that something will go wrong and thwart all our plans.
But the generator started fine, the slides came in smoothly, the CAT diesel roared to life and we moved out perfectly. The only blip was that passenger side slide leak, with all the rain from the Tropical Storm, some water got on top of the slide. When the slide came in, some water came in with it and dripped on the carpet, getting it wet. That moved finding the leak and fixing it up to the top of my to-do list.
We drove the 160 miles to Myrtle Beach and settled in to a large site at the PirateLand Campground. Now this is not a Judy or Sherry approved type of park, they have RV crammed in all over the place. You have to be careful walking the streets so that you don’t get run over by some ten year old kid speeding along in a golf cart.
However, with our grandsons Andrew (aka Dyson) and Owie (aka Hoover), it’s a great place to have fun. We are about two football fields length away from an awesome beach and the campground also has a great pool, a really nice lazy river as well as miniature golf, pizza…and ice cream. What’s not to love?
So while Marti is in her classes from 7:30 am to 1 pm, I’ve been hanging with the boys, more like hanging on to the boys as we’ve been jumping from activity to activity. Marti gets home about 1:30 and joins into the fun.
So we’re trying to catch our breath as we try to keep up with the boys. It’s been a blast already and we have until next Sunday to keep having fun.
While at the pool, I’ve discovered an important observation: Just because a person can fit into a bikini, it doesn’t mean that the person should wear one! :cO
Pictures coming when I get to stop running… ;c)
