Sure Didn't Take Long For Murphy To Show Up!

He could'a left us alone for a little bit, but Noooo.  He couldn't wait to jump into the middle of our plans.

We have scheduled the home inspection and the appraiser to come this weekend.  And what is it that Murphy scheduled for us?

Yep, a way early snow storm for our area.  The weather guru's are predicting 3 to 6 inches of the white stuff, maybe even more.  I get nervous when they use words like "Historic" to describe the storm.  Of course, my snow blower is packed away in the storage unit we've rented to temporarily hold our stuff that is going to our kids.  Fortunately I still have two snow shovels in the garage.

I spent the day double checking things in advance of the house inspection, went over all the smoke and CO detectors, changed some bulbs and wrestled with the ice maker in the kitchen refrigerator.  Murphy got ahold of that, too with his "magic" touch.  A new one has to be ordered, nobody has one locally.

I took a break and visited a nearby campground, not our favorite, but one nearby that doesn't have a 14 day maximum stay restriction.  It is no cheaper than our favorite campground at Bull Run Regional Park, so Bull Run will be where we'll stay starting around 15 November.  We're trying to get the estate sale completed before the Thanksgiving holiday.

So the fun begins.  Now, where are the snow tires?

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. I just heard about your storm on the news. Sounds like it's a good time to get out of Dodge. However, you can't but you must admit that at least this snow will be long gone by the time you start heading west in your Journey. So, Murphy might have done you a favor by showing up now instead of waiting a month.

  5. Well doesn't Murphy have a great sense of humor;o))

Just remember, snow melts but your back doesn't. Be careful with those snow shovels. We don't want you down for the count right now!!

  8. Oh that looks cold and miserable. I am so glad we are at Dog Pound South already. That is what our winters at home look like. Yuck.

    Take care

  9. Definitely don't need a snowstorm right now but hopefully it will be fast moving and melting. And everything else will go smoothly and you'll be headed west before you know it.

  10. We heard about that potential snow of yours on the news last night. Luckily, it's early in the season so it should melt quickly. If you're really lucky, it'll hit north of you :)

  11. Looking on the bright side, it should cover up all those leaves you've been worried about! :)

  13. I'm west of you in the foothills and am counting on those weather guys tendency to toally exaggerate how bad anything is or is going to be.

But maybe your inspectors are in on it since they didn't want to work on Sunday?

Worst is supposed to be west of I95. Is that you? NoVa weather on weather.com says no "significant accumulation" and 47 for tomorrow. So don't give Murphy credit quite yet!
