We started the day off with plans to stop just short of our granddaughter's home, a "short" 300 miles. We decided to spend a night in a campground to do some heavy laundry and in general cleaning up. Since we've been blacktop boondocking, we have not been able to use our Splendide washer/dryer. Ergo, a pile of dirty clothes developed.
Leaving Idaho, the roads were once again clear and dry, and it was sunny, but a little cold. We crossed into Oregon on I-84 and enjoyed the scenery, you don't get to see things like this on the East coast.
The highway climbed up into the hills.
Further along, we began to see pine trees.
The road ran along a beautiful river.
Off in the distance on top of the mountain clouds were moving in.
The road took us up into the clouds and we found a real winter wonder land.
We never saw anything quite like the frosted pine needles before.
Eventually we made our way to Pendelton, Oregon where there is a KOA.
Here is a picture of the Journey at said KOA. Just wanted to prove that we really do stay in campgrounds. ;c)
Tomorrow, if all goes well, we'll finish the trip, and we'll be hugging our granddaughters...and Moochdocking in their driveway.
