Out and About with No Plan

We got away Friday night about 8 pm and headed South.  I had tried and failed to get a reservation at the Kings Dominion campground, something about a State Fair right next door.  How dare they hold a fair where I want to go without checking with me first.

So, as usual, we were winging it, the only thing we were going to do for sure was have dinner Saturday night with Mike and Terri, our RV-Dreams buddies.  We did have to stop at a Walmart along the way to get a few items (food!) so the Walmart at Fredericksburg, VA was handy and we pulled in.  In the lot there were a couple of RV's set up for the night, so we decided it would be a good overnight stop for us too.  Not too bad, only a mere $189 dollars later, we were stocked up.  Funny how that happens.

In the morning, over breakfast at the next door Bob Evans, we mulled over a couple of ideas of a nearby campground and decided we'd check out the one at nearby Ft. A.P. Hill.

It was a nice drive though some really pretty countryside.

We came to the gate and were checked through.

We picked a nice site and I was pleased that the sewer connection was right next to the Journey.  But they had a slightly different water connection.

I carry 50 feet of fresh water hose and I used every inch of it.

Setting up, I opened the awning.

And out came the hitch hiking stick bugs.  They didn't bother me too much.

But the stink bug hiding in the bathroom hand towel really bothered Marti, for some reason...

We met Mike and Terri for dinner Saturday and had a great time.  As usual, the time flew by as we briefed each other on our full time preparations, ideas and issues.  It was great to talk "RV" with them.  I didn't get any pictures of them, but that's no problem, we're meeting again for breakfast, and they're bringing along another RV-Dreams couple.  Who are they?  Stay tuned and find out.

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.
