I'm in Deep Doo Doo and Goodbye to a Friend

Foot in mouth disease, I suffer badly from it.  In fact, I can even put my foot in my mouth by just using the keyboard on my computer!

I made my usual attempt at humor with my last technical post and it gave me a good taste of shoe leather.  Seems I thought that I'd give my bonnie bride something to smile at because she's not too fond of my technical and historical posts.  Unfortunately, after reading some of the feedback on my post via comments and emails, I found myself in deep doo doo.  I offended some folks and find myself not in the doghouse, but the outhouse (lower level).  There now are some folks looking to express their opinions of my sense of humor and give me a "re-education".

Even Zoe, the Wonder Dog gave me her opinion of my post!

So I promise I'll do better next time...really.

In the mean time, I have to say goodbye to a trusted friend that has traveled around with us on many of our adventures and helped to make our blog interesting (hopefully).

I was taking a picture of the date code on my tires for my last post and I dropped my trusty little camera on the pavement, it landed right on the extended lens and it broke.  You can see the dent on the lens right at the 12:00 o'clock position.  It tried to open but it's jammed.  It's bitten the dust.

I liked my little Sony because it was pretty idiot proof (except when you drop it).  It was hard to take a bad picture with it, it even auto focused.  I liked that I could slip it in a pocket and carry it very easily.  So now I have to buy another one this week, I'll need it for our Disney World vacation next week.

I do have a back up camera, a Pentax K-110.

It is a great camera, but it does take some ability to use it, to include small things like focusing the lens.  I shot several pictures for another post and they came out pretty blurry, duh!  Then I remembered how to twist the thingy-ma-bob to sharpen the picture.  I may be a slow learner, but never forget, I'm a slow learner. :c)  It is large and heavy and doesn't fit in my pocket for some reason...

So yesterday, we took the Journey out for a good run up to Camping World.  My son had given me a gift certificate and it was a good excuse to use it.

It was Marti's first trip in the Journey since she broke her ankle.  It didn't slow her down, she came along and made the ride great.

Afterwards, we ran by the nearby Flying J and topped off the fuel tank.  Ouch!  The price is sure going up.  I may have to rob a bank or two to keep the tank filled.

What did I buy at Camping World?  Well, you'll have to wait for my next post because I have a room to finish painting.

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Wanted to leave an answer to your comment on our blog here with you. We are checking into Camp Wilderness on Tuesday and checking out on Sunday, the 13th.

We are staying 5 nights, but that still may not be enough and we will let you know if we decide to add another night...if not maybe we can do a quick howdy while we are leaving and you are arriving.

  2. Oh Paul we were all just givin' you a hard time. But I'm in love with Zoe and trust her opinion totally. Beagles are the WORLD'S GREATEST DOGS.

Sorry about the camera. I know what you mean by liking these new easy point and shoots that do a great job. Just have Amazon send you another one QUICK!

Congrats Marti you look very classy in your boot! I remember it well. The worst part of the whole thing was the months of therapy it took to get rid of all the hip problems I had from walking in the damn thing. Wishing you better luck.

  3. You can always take the approach of "like it or lump it" to those critics out there :)

  4. Don't worry about it. Ron says not everybody gets my sense of humor. Hard to believe since I think I'm hilarious!
