The Big Step

It is done and it didn't hurt at all.  A large envelope, $1.98 for postage and off it went.  My official letter requesting retirement.  Now I sit back and wait.  The letter will wind its way up through three offices for approval and when approved we can start serious preparations for fulltiming.

It is starting to sink in a little bit that our dreams are shortly to become reality.  Leaving a career of over thirty years makes me wonder if I should be jumping for joy or rolling on the floor crying.  At least I'm still young and healthy enough to do either.  ;c)

For those that are wondering if I'll grow a beard and a pony tail...nope!   I like the clean shaven, short hair look.  Plus it saves on shampoo costs.

    That's got to be a great feeling! A nicely trimmed beard looks good, but a pony tail?...not so much.

    good for you for finally mailing that letter off..now it is time to wait for all the 'redtape'!!..I vote for the clean shaven and no ponytail look too!!
